To ensure the necessary learning outcomes are covered, our 1st4Sport endorsed player courses are tailored to each player level. Our approach is flexible to provide a valuable experience.
Beginner Player Course
Who is it for? Ideal for players who wish to develop their basic riding and ball striking skills. The course will also cover horsemanship, basic rules of polo and tactical skills.
Eligibility: Players will be required to hold a handicap of -2 or below, be a minimum of 18 years of age and be able to effectively communicate in English (listening, reading, writing, speaking). Our coaches also speak Spanish TBC
Minimum course duration: The course is a minimum of 3 days.
Intermediate Player Course
This course builds upon elements covered in the beginner course to further refine riding and ball striking skills. The course focuses on tactical along with exploring both "on the ball" and "off the ball" considerations.
Eligibility: You will be required to hold a handicap of -1 to 0, be a minimum of 18 years of age and be able to effectively communicate in English (listening, reading, writing, speaking). Minimum course duration: The course is delivered over a period of 5 days.
Advanced Player Course
This course focuses on the development of advanced skills in horsemanship, riding and technical and tactical skills.
Eligibility: You will be required to hold a handicap of 1-3, be a minimum of 18 years of age and be able to effectively communicate in English (listening, reading, writing, speaking)
Minimum course duration: This course is delivered over a minimum of 7 days.

The Federation of International Polo (FIP) is the international federation representing the sport of polo, officially recognised by the International Olympic Committee. It was founded in 1982 by representatives of eleven national polo associations, and currently represents the national polo associations of more than 90 countries. FIPs principal aim is to enhance the image and status of the great game of polo internationally. FIPs mission is to promote the practice of the sport of polo worldwide.
1st4Sport Qualifications are an awarding organisation recognised and regulated in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, by the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual). Our player courses have been endorsed by 1st4Sport. Endorsement means that each player courses has gone through an appropriate assessment process to confirm that the content is industry relevant and of the appropriate standard.
Sport Structures are a national training provider in the sport sector. They have experience in workforce development, specifically the development of courses, workshops and qualifications and upskilling coaches to support tutoring, assessing, quality assurance and mentoring needs.
